I love Christmas because it reminds me that God is still in control regardless of our individual social, emotional or economic situation. It is a very sensual time, filled with sights/lights, carols, and the smell of baking something delicious. I'm also acutely aware of the need to be Christian in these perilous times. I can provide someone with the opportunity to sense God's existence by giving food, clothing, and my service to those in need. I love Christmas...the spirit of the season can last me all year long.

Sometimes, I feel that the Christmas season is too commercialized and all that but my memories can't let me forget family and celebration. You have to remind your families why you celebrate. When you do that, it's no longer about family or toys or Santa or none of those other commercialized things, but it's about God's love for us. That's all the Christmas and Easter really boil down to, they answer the question of how much does God love us!
I was talking to Darius about Christmas and what it means. He said "It's Jesus' birthday." I said, so what are you going to get Jesus for his birthday? He pondered a long time, looked at his mother, looked at me and said.. "I can't give Jesus anything." I said of course you can give Jesus something. You can give him your service. You can give him your love. You can be kind to somebody who needs a kind deed. I think that's what we try to imitate at Christmas time.
